Pearl Knight, 98, Webster City, died Feb. 2, 1995 at Crestview Manor Care Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Christian Church with the Rev. Richard Morris officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Hill Cemetery, east of Stanhope. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Sunday at Foster Funeral Home until 8 a.m. Monday when the casket will be taken to the church.

Annie Mollie Pearl Schmidt, daughter of Enno and Anna (Luft) Schmidt, was born Dec 4, 1896 at Salix. The family moved to Gilbert, then to Kamrar, where she graduated from Kamrar High School. She attended Drake University, Iowa State University and University of Northern Iowa. She taught in rural schools in Hamilton County and at the Stanhope Consolidated School.

On Aug. 23, 1922, she married Ransom H. Riley at Webster City. The couple farmed east of Stanhope. To this union, one daughter was born. Her husband died in May of 1932.

On Feb. 17, 1939, she married Daniel "Dannie" Knight in Stanhope. The couple farmed south of Stanhope until 1953 when they moved to Stanhope. She was a homemaker and a piano teacher for 30 years in the Stanhope area. Her husband died Oct. 8, 1965. She moved to Crestview Apartments in 1988 and for the past month had resided at Crestview Manor.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Nilva Jean and Bill Henderson of Stanhope; granddaughters, Ann Kennedy of Woolstock and Billie Shelton of Stanhope; four great-grandchildren; step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Marvel and Conrad Lundquist of Webster City; step-grandson, David Lundquist of Webster City; three step-great-grandsons; and one step-great-great-grandson. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, William Owen Henderson; brother, Herman Schmidt; and sisters, Blanche Neal and Maggie and Edith Kennedy.

She was a member of the EOT Club, Christian Womens Fellowship and taught Sunday school.
