Wilma Johnson, 66, Stanhope, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Stanhope, with Rev. Joe Lambert officiating. Burial will be in the Lawn Hill Cemetery, southeast of Stanhope. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Wilma Ruth Hildal, daughter of Howard and Anna Wierson Hildal, was born June 29, 1937 on a farm south of Jewell. She attended rural schools and graduated from Jewell High School in 1955. She started working for ISU (WOI-TV) at Ames as a secretary. On April 12, 1958 she married Eugene Arnold Johnson at Jewell. The couple resided at Jewell. She continued to work at Ames. The family moved to Stanhope where her husband owned and operated the Stanhope Dairy and she served as bookkeeper and was a homemaker. Mr. Johnson died Feb. 13, 1982. She worked at the First State bank in Stanhope for 15 years, retiring in 1997. She then worked parttime for the Farm Journal in Webster City.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Krystal Johnson, Dayton, Kyle Johnson of Webster City, Clark and Tonia Johnson of Altoona; Troy Johnson of Stanhope, daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Rex Gwinn of Johnston and Beth and Bill Wing of Stanhope; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandson; a sister, Gloria Curran of Ames; and a brother, Gerald Hildal of Jewell.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Hazel Johnson.

She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Stanhope and a church circle.
