James Kenneth Hill III, 33, a lifelong Stanhope area resident, died Sunday afternoon at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames where he had been a patient for 13 days. He had been in ill health for more than a year.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Christian church in Stanhope with the Rev. Richard Miller officiating and with burial in the Lawn Hill cemetery at Stanhope.

The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9 a.m. Tuesday, when it will be taken to the church.

James Kenneth Hill III, son of James Kenneth and Betty Jean Fredericksen Hill, Jr., was born May 31, 1943 in Webster City. He was reared and educated in the Stanhope community.

On Feb. 17, 1962, he was united in marriage to Lillian Lois Kern, and he had since been employed by Hamilton county.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and two sons: Lisa D. Hill, Kenneth J. Hill, Kristan K. Hill and James C. Hill, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James K. Hill, Jr. of Stanhope; one brother and one sister, Jeff Hill of Jewell and Mrs. Mark (Jane) Knutson of Story City, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hill.

Mr. Hill was a member of the Stanhope Christian church.
