Carl E. Clausen, 61, longtime Stanhope resident, a former Hamilton county supervisor, was pronounced dead on arrival Friday afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital following a heart attack suffered at his home in Stanhope.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Richard L. Miller officiating and with burial in the Lawn Hill cemetery near Stanhope where Masonic graveside rites were conducted by Acorn Lodge 601, AF and AM, of Stratford.

Carl Eaton Clausen, only son of LeRoy and Elsie Eaton Clausen, was born Feb. 5, 1915 in Webster county on a farm near Duncombe. He was reared and educated in that community.

He is survived by his wife, the former Rita Powers, daughter of Thomas and Anna Powers; one son, W. Roger Clausen of Stanhope; one daughter, Mrs. Peter R.A. (Marjorie Ellen) Johnson of Ann Arbor, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Charles and Cathy Clausen, Amy, Sheila, Beth, Peter and Paul Johnson; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Chambers of Dodge City, Kan., and two aunts, Mrs. Merle (Hazel) Dick of Webster City and Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Hendrickson of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret, who died in infancy and Mrs. Darwin (Marjorie) Maurer.

He was past master of Acorn Lodge, 601, AF and AM, and past patron of Order of Eastern Star, Avon chapter, 504, of Stratford.
