Funeral services for Mrs. Ella I. Allen, 95, a longtime Stanhope resident who died early Monday evening at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Grace Methodist church in Stanhope.

The Rev. David Burright will officiate and burial will be in the Lawn Hill cemetery south of Stanhope. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 7:30 Friday, at which time it will be taken to the church.

Ella Isabelle Wheeler, daughter of Joseph Franklin and Elizabeth Gates Wheeler, was born Oct. 19, 1882, at Mackey, Iowa. She was reared and educated there.

On Sept. 26, 1910 she was united in marriage to Charles M. Allen, and the couple made their home on a farm two miles southeast of Stanhope.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jan. 31, 1956, and she continued to reside on the family farm for a short time, later moving into Stanhope, her home since.

She is survived by five daughters and one son; Mrs. Wilbur (Ruby) Eyestone, Grinnell, Mrs. Karl (Bessie) Klyng, Santa Rosa, Calif., Mrs. Stanley (Faye) Sandvig, Thor, Iowa, Mrs. Ivan (Edna) Grasso, Boone, Mrs. Clifford (Gladys) Van Meter, Lake Port, Calif., and Charles Allen, Stanhope; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, her parents, two brothers and one sister.

She was a member of the UMW of Grace Methodist church at Stanhope.
