Howard Welty, a Resident of This County for Fifteen Years, Dies at Mercy Hospital

Howard Welty, a well-known and greatly respected farmer of near Williams, passed away late Thursday afternoon at Mercy hospital in this city, his sudden death resulting from peritonitis. Beside the wife [Margaret McDermott Welty], five children, two sons and three daughters, are left to mourn the passing of a beloved husband and father.

Mr. Welty was born in Illinois May 19, 1866, and came to Iowa fifteen years ago. The family has since resided on the farm five miles from Williams.
