Anna Sullivan was born in the village of Liscuib, county of Galway, Ireland, March 24, 1863, and died at her home 1023 Bank St., Webster City, Iowa, Jan. 21, 1948, at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 27 days.

The daughter of John and Mary Cassidy, she was educated and grew to young womanhood in Ireland. In 1890 she came to the United States locating in San Francisco, Calif. She made her home in California for two years, coming to Webster City in 1892 to visit her sister, Mrs. Mary Lyons.

On February 25, 1894 she was united in marriage to John Sullivan. They started housekeeping on a farm in Blairsburg township, later moving to a farm four miles northeast of Blairsburg and where Mr. Sullivan passed away on May 28, 1936. Mrs. Sullivan continued to live at the farm home until October 18, 1943, making a total of 43 years of having lived in the same home. Upon her retirement from the farm she moved to Webster City, which had since been her home.

She was a loving wife, a kind neighbor, and very generous toward helping those in need. Having no children of their own, Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan reared Mrs. Roy Fowler. Besides Mrs. Fowler, she is survived by one niece, Mrs. T.I. Dower of Fonda, and a very dear friend, Miss Helen Ashpole, of Blairsburg, who for the past nine years made her home with Mrs. Sullivan.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 23, 1948, at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Thomas Aquinas church with the Rev. Father D.A. Gorman of Webster City and Rev. Father F.W. McKinley of Williams officiating. Burial was made on the family lot in the Catholic cemetery, Williams, Iowa.

Pall bearers for the services were Harold Keane, Loren Larwick, Silos Welty, Earl Wilson, Ed Olmstead and Wendell Lowe.
