A number of relatives and friends here were shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. John Staebler, of Britt, which occurred at her home last Sunday afternoon, death being caused by ptomaine poisoning. Just where she had eaten the food which produced the poisonous effects is uncertain. She had eaten her supper at home Saturday evening and after she had finished her shopping she had gone to a restaurant for lunch. After returning to her home a short time later she became intensely ill and gradually grew worse until she died Sunday afternoon.

The body was brought to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Doyle, of this place, and funeral services held at St. Mary's Catholic church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, Father E. O'Donnell having charge. Burial was made in the Williams cemetery.
