DIED AT HOME IN WILLIAMS

Plan Services Saturday for Mrs. Andrew Hames, Age 68

WILLIAMS - Mrs. Andrew Hames, 68, widely known Williams resident, died Thursday afternoon at her home in Williams. She had suffered for several weeks with high blood pressure and heart trouble.

Funeral services will be at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church in Williams. Burial in the Catholic cemetery, west of Williams, C.G. Rick in charge.

Catherine Leisker was born Aug. 5, 1877 in Galena, Ill. She was married May 3, 1898 at Galena to Andrew Hames. The couple moved to Dubuque, Iowa and in March, 1910 came to Williams, making their home in this community since that time. They moved into Williams from the farm east of town about five years ago.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Hames is survived by eight children: Ben, Fred, Walter and Urban, all of Williams; Mrs. Laura Murphy of Clarion; M. Sgt Oscar, in England; Cpl. Francis, in Germany and Staff Sgt Melvin, now stationed at Miami Beach, Fla. There are also ten grandchildren surviving.

Mrs. Hames was a devout Christian woman and a tireless worker in the United Service Women since its organization, being chaplain at the time of her death.

Her husband and children always were her first consideration and there is no doubt that her life was shortened by worry over her three sons in service overseas, one of whom, Melvin, was a German prisoner for 15 months.
