Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, Iowa, Thursday, July 9, 1959

WILLIAMS - Andrew Hames, 84, longtime resident of Williams, died Wednesdy at the Clarion hospital where he had been a patient since Friday.

Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at Scott's chapel in Williams. Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic church with the Rev. Father Nosbish officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.

Andrew Hames was born Dec. 21, 1874 at Kieler, Wis. He was married May 3, 1898 to Catherine Lufker, and the couple moved to Williams in 1911, the family home since.

Surviving are eight children, Ben, Fred, Oscar, Urban, Francis and Melvin Hames, all of Williams; Walter Hames of Washburn, Iowa, and Mrs. Lawrence (O'Delia) Murphy of Clarion; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1945.

[her obituary maiden name spelling was Leisker, his obituary spelled it Lufker and FindAGrave showed it as Leifker with attachments to her parents so assuming this is the correct maiden name]
