Mrs. Roy Fowler, 78, longtime resident of the Blairsburg community, died Sunday afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital where she had been a patient the past three weeks.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic church in Williams. The Rev. Father F.J. McEnany will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery at Williams.

Rosary will be 8 p.m. this evening and again at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home.

Elizabeth Frances Grant Sullivan, the adopted daughter of John and Margaret Sullivan, was born Dec. 7, 1886, in New York. She moved to Iowa when she was a small child and resided with her parents on a farm northeast of Blairsburg. She received her education in the Blairsburg schools and was graduated in 1905.

She was united in marriage June 9, 1909 to Roy Fowler, and the couple resided on the Fowler family farm southeast of Blairsburg until the spring of 1910 when they moved to the Sullivan family farm. Then in 1913, the family moved to their present farm home four and one-half miles northeast of Blairsburg.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, John Fowler of Hampton, Francis (Bud) Fowler of Blairsburg and Maurice Fowler, Saratoga, Calif.; 23 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Melvin Bell; by one granddaughter, Julie Ruth Fowler; by her parents and one sister.

Mrs. Fowler was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church at Williams and was a member of St. Joseph's Study club of that church. For nine years, she served as a 4-H leader in the Blairsburg community.
