Francis (Bud) Fowler, 51, a lifelong resident of the Blairsburg community, died Monday evening at his farm home northeast of Blairsburg. He had been in ill health for many years.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic church in Williams with Father F.J. McEnany officiating and with burial in St. Mary's cemetery.

Wake services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home.

Francis Willard Fowler, son of Roy and Elizabeth Sullivan Fowler, was born Feb. 3, 1918 on a farm northeast of Blairsburg, and was reared and educated in the Blairsburg community.

He was united in marriage March 2, 1937, to Ardath Ritter, and the couple had always since resided on the Fowler family farm.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Sondra) Plager of Canby, Minn., and Mrs. James (Karen) Grove of ? Minn.; six grandchildren, Kimberly, Steven and Douglas Plager, Terry, Tamara and Michael Grove. Also surviving are his father, Roy Fowler of Blairsburg; two brothers, John Fowler of Hampton and Maurice Fowler of Houston, Texas; a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Mrs. Melvin (Mary) Bell.

Mr. Fowler was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church of Williams.

As a youth, he was very active in 4-H work.
