ELVA HOWARD DIES IN WEST

Funeral Services for Former Local Resident Today in Denver

Mrs. Lorene Q. Hall received word today of the death of her aunt, Mrs. Elva Howard, 68, at a private hospital in Denver, Col.

Mrs. Howard was a former local resident and widely known.

Funeral services were held this afternoon, followed by cremation.

Details of Mrs. Howard's illness are not known, although she had been in very poor health since February.

She leaves two sons, Lowell, of Minneapolis, and Merritt, of Boulder, Col., and several grandchildren. There are also two brothers, I.I. Boak of Denver, and C.C. Boak of Tonapah, Nev.

Mrs. Howard was the former Miss Elva Boak, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Boak, pioneer residents of this county. She was born April 25, 1867 on the old Boak farm, a few miles north of town, and moved to this city with her parents, when her father retired from farming.

The family home was at 108 North Des Moines street.

After her father's death, Mrs. Howard lived with her mother who was in her late nineties at the time of her death, several years ago.

Mrs. Howard continued to reside here until two years ago when she rented her home and went to Denver, where she had since lived.

While a resident of this city she was prominent in social activities and was a member of the Six O'clock club and Woman's club.
