JEWELL - Graveside funeral services for Dwaine Hegland, 30, a former Jewell resident, were held Monday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at the Evergreen cemetery at Jewell.

He was killed Friday, April 26, in a truck - train accident at Independence, Iowa.

He was born January 27, 1938 at Ossian and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oberlin Hegland of Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Hegland was married on January 27, 1957, to Lorraine Claude, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Claude of Jewell. He is survived by his wife, his parents, two sons, Mitchell Ray and Craig Allen, a sister, Mrs. Laverna Feuerhelm, two brothers, Dale M. and Dennis L., all of Cedar Rapids.

Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Cedar Rapids on Monday, April 29.

Rev. Norbert Jolivette of Bethesda Lutheran church had charge of graveside services.
