Miss Amy Frank, 88, longtime Webster City resident died Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Hamilton County hospital after an illness of two and one-half months.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist church with the Rev. V. Clay Noah officiating.
Her body was willed to the University of Iowa School of Medicine for research and education.
The daughter of John Wesley and Eva Pray Frank, she was born Aug. 13, 1886 at Webster City, and for many years made her home at 614 Ohio St., until about two years ago when she moved to the Crestview Apartments.
A graduate of Webster City high school she attended college at Pella, Iowa and taught school for two years. She later went to Waterloo Business college and worked as a bookkeeper for the Hoffman service station and also the Hamilton County bank.
She was preceded in death by her only brother, Milton, and by her parents.
She is survived by one sister Mrs. Irene Knouse of Lemon Grove, Calif, three nieces and one nephew, Beulah White of Alexandria, La., Evelyn Harvey of Santa Clara, Calif., Elizabeth Robinson of San Diego, Calif. and Frank Knouse, also of San Diego.
Miss Frank was the third generation of the pioneer William S. Pray family to have lived and died in Webster City.
She was an active member of the First Baptist church as long as her health permitted.
She was also active in the Garden club and other organizations and always enjoyed gardening. She also enjoyed traveling, and every summer she and her late brother Milton, would take extensive car-trailer trips throughout the central and western United States. For many years, she, her brother, and her sister's family would meet at some central camping spot and enjoy a family get-together.
