Clifford Odegaard, 63, longtime Webster City resident, died early Sunday morning at the Hamilton County hospital where he had been transferred following a two-week stay at the University Hospitals, Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran church with Rev. Raymond M. Roden and Rev. David R. LaMaster officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.
Graveside flagfolding services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 191.
Friends may call the Foster Funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be taken to the church.
Harold Clifford Odegaard, son of Ole and Arnbjorg Veflen Odegaard, was born Dec. 28, 1921 at Sisseton, S.D. He was reared and educated there. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
On April 6, 1946, he married Gertrude Knapp, and the couple lived in Webster City where he was employed at the Hart-Carter Co. for several years. To this union, two sons were born.
On May 5, 1951 he was united in marriage to Joyce Wells at Princeton, Mo. The couple resided in Webster City and to this union one daughter was born. He was employed at People's Natural Gas Co. for 29 years, retiring Jan. 1, 1984.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, two sons, Alan and Mike Odegaard and one daughter, Laurie Tate, all of Webster City; five grandchildren, Misty and Molly Odegaard of Sioux City; Tara Tate, Amy and Eric Odegaard, all of Webster City; three sisters and five brothers, Alma Roseth and Myrtle Larson, both of Aberdeen, S.D., Marie Davidson, Holiday, Fla., Oscar Odegaard, Groton, S.D., Alvin Odegaard, Portland, Ore., Lawrence Odegaard, Las Vegas, Emil Odegaard, Seattle, Wash., and Lyle Odegaard, Oralville, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church, the Webster City Moose lodge and the American Legion Post 191.
