SAD DEATH OF YOUNG MOTHER
Mrs. George W. McCollough Dies After Short Illness, Leaving Three Children.
FUNERAL TOMORROW
Death Particularly Sad Because Children are All Young.
Mrs. George W. McCollough, passed away at the family home, 534 Walnut street at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon, following a week's brief but critical illness. Funeral services will be held privately at the home at 3:30 o'clock and at Graceland cemetery at 4 tomorrow afternoon. Dr. R. T. Chipperfield of the Methodist church will be in charge.
Mrs. McCollough leaves her husband and three little children - Margaret Irene, Richard William and a week old babe, Robert Harold; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Mabbott, and one sister, Miss Irene Mabbott, to mourn her loss most grievously.
She was taken ill scarcely more than a week ago with influenza and complications arising. In the course of the disease resulted in her death. Her mother was summoned from Tama a week ago and other members of the family joined her here as the seriousness of her condition grew more apparent.
Ethel Marie Mabbott was born May 7, 1889, being the older daughter of her parents. She grew to womanhood in Webster City where she attended the public schools, graduating with the class of 1908. Following several years of teaching experience she was united in marriage with George W. McCollough Feb. 24, 1915. They made their home here continuously since and the little family had won a warm place in the hearts of the community.
Particularly sad is the death of the young mother, and the sincerest sympathy of the community goes out to the sorrowing young husband and parents, as well as the three little children so suddenly bereft of a mother's care.
