Funeral services for James I. (Shorty) Sinn, 81, longtime Webster City resident, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Reed Richards officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Mr. Sinn died Thursday evening at his home, 1200 Bank St.

James Ivory Sinn, son of Morris G. and Lucinda Sinn, was born Jan. 23, 1887, in Brown county, Ind. He was reared and educated in Brown county, later moving to Illinois.

He was united in marriage Oct. 14, 1909, at Saybrook, Ill., to Susie Matilda Bobb, and the couple moved to Bement, Ill., where Mr. Sinn owned and operated a confectionary business.

In 1913, the family moved to Webster City, where Mr. Sinn for many years engaged in tiling work.

He is survived by one daughter and one son, Mrs. Kenneth (Sophia) Bauer of Mason City, and Lyle D. Sinn, Des Moines; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Sinn was preceded in death by his wife Aug. 22, 1957; by one son, Jack Sinn, who died in 1938; and another son, James Sinn, who died in 1964; by his parents, several brothers and sisters.
