Mrs. Walter (Margaret) Boston, 76, a longtime resident of Hamilton county, died Sunday evening at Mercy hospital in Mason City, following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic church in Williams with Rev. Father J.J. Brickley officiating and with burial in St. Mary's cemetery at Williams. Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home in Webster City.

Margaret Elizabeth Welty, daughter of Howard and Margaret Welty, was born July 9, 1893, on a farm near Zwingle, Iowa, in Jackson county. When she was three years old, she moved with her parents to a farm near Blairsburg and was reared and educated in the Blairsburg community.

Following her graduation from Blairsburg high school, she taught school for several terms in the rural schools of Hamilton county. She was united in marriage Jan. 10, 1917, to Walter Allen Boston, and the couple farmed for many years in the Blairsburg, Webster City and Williams communities.

She is survived by one son and five daughters: Howard Boston of Mason City; Mrs. Robert (Mary) Bobzien, Raytown, Mo., Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Schumacher, Clarion, Mrs. Norman (Monica) Page, Iowa Falls, Mrs. Richard (Loretta) Cherpinsky, Cherry Hill, N.J., and Mrs. Ramon (Rosina) Holtz of Greene, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister and one brother, Susan Welty of Webster City and Howard Welty of Garrison, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Feb. 21, 1963, by her parents, one sister, two brothers and one grandson.

Mrs. Boston was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church at Williams and was active in the ACCW of the church.
