YOUNG MAN DIES FROM INJURIES

Young Williams Lad Falls on Pitchfork Last Night With Fatal Results.

Last night while Leo Campbell, a lad of about fourteen years of age, living six miles south of Williams, was assisting his brother with the chores about the barn, he in some manner tripped, falling over backward onto the upraised tines of a pitchfork.

The tines entered his back in the region of the lungs and although he lingered through the night, he passed away this morning at 7 o'clock. The father of the two boys is in Illinois on a visit, and the boys had been attending to the duties of the farm, in his absence. A call was put in at one of the garages early this morning for one of the local physicians who had been hurriedly called to attend the boy, but immediately following this, the order was countermanded, as the lad was dead.

[According to FindAGrave information Leo Campbell was born 18 Sept 1897 and died 6 March 1914 - he is buried at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Williams, Hamilton Co., Iowa]
