STORY CITY - Richard N. Anderson, 87, of Story City, died at 11:30 p.m. July 28 at Bethany Manor. Services will be held August 1 at 1:30 p.m. from Elim Lutheran Church in Randall with Rev. Donald Berg and Rev. Enock Hall officiating. Another service will be held at Bethany Manor at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be a the Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell.

The son of Andreas and Jenny Anderson, he was born March 3, 1890 in Clear Lake township. He married Betsy Ann Hendrickson on January 1, 1916. Anderson had retired from farming in 1957.

Survivors include his wife, Betsy, also of Bethany Manor; two sons, Donald and Leonard, both of Jewell; two daughters, Jane (Mrs. Irving Faust) of Hubbard and Ruth (Mrs. Norris Swanson) of Lincoln, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brother, Arthur of Story City and Julius of Des Moines and two sisters, Mrs. Louisa Swenson and Mrs. Gena Swenson, both of Story City.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one grandson, three brothers and one sister.
