Edwin B. Hove Dies in D.M.
Edwin B. Hove, 76, former Stanhope resident, died at 8:50 a.m. Monday at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines. Since August, 1949, he had been making his home at the Iowa Lutheran Home for the Aged at Madrid. On Dec. 5, he fell and fractured a hip, complications from which attributed to his death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope preceded by a brief service at 1:15 at the Foster funeral home. The Rev. Walter E. Carlson will officiate, assisted by Gus Sanborn, superintendent of the Lutheran home. Burial will be in the Lake Center cemetery southeast of Stanhope.
Edwin Bertran Hove, son of Iver E. and Bertha Hove, was born Sept. 10, 1876 in Capron, Ill. When he was 10 months old, the family moved to Iowa locating on a farm in Clear Lake township six miles southeast of Stanhope. He made his home there for 71 years.
He was preceded in death by his parent, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ingvald Hove of Boone; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Julian Hove of Des Moines; a niece and a nephew, Miss Norma Hove and Julian Hove, both of Des Moines; a step-niece and a step-nephew, Mrs. Arlene Wirtz of Boone and Willis Crary of Calexico, Calif.
Mr. Hove was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church at Stanhope.
