Mrs. Alvy Hanson, 58, died at [it's either 1:10 or 4:10] p.m., Wednesday at the Hamilton county hospital where she had been a patient since Jan. 26. She had been in poor health for several years.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. M. V. Chastain officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Alice Claflin, daughter of Nathan and Viola Claflin, was born Dec. 2, 1894 on a farm south of Webster City. She was reared and educated in this community.

She was united in marriage Feb. 22, 1922 to Alvy Hanson, and the couple farmed in Hamilton county until March 1, 1949, when they moved into Webster City, their home since.

She is survived by one husband, one daughter and three sons: Mrs. Raymond (Maxine) Baker of Webster City and Lester and Leslie, also of Webster City, and Pvt. Robert Hanson with the army at Camp Stoneman, Petersburg, California. Also surviving is one brother, Clarence Claflin of Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Mrs. Hanson was a member of the Church of Christ.

A kind and loving wife and mother, Mrs. Hanson's main interests in life were always her home and family.
