MRS. FRANCES ROSANNA SCOTT DEAD

Dies at the Home of Her Son, G. P. Bowers, on West Second Street.

Mrs. Frances Rosanna Scott, the widow of an old soldier, passed away Sunday morning at 8:45 o'clock at the home of her son, G. P. Bowers, on west Second street, of general breakdown of health. Mrs. Scott had lived with her son and family for the past five years.

She was born in Jasper county, this state, in 1851, and married I. H. Bowers in 1880. To this union were born three children, two dying in infancy. Her husband passed away in 1897 and later she was joined in marriage to H. K. Scott, who preceded her into the great unknown in 1910.

For about ten years of her life, Mrs. Scott was a resident of Hamilton county, living in this city for two years about fifteen years ago. She was taken sick last November and has been bedridden most of the time since. For six weeks last spring she was an inmate of Mercy hospital, but her health continued to decline until the end yesterday.

The son above mentioned, is the only near surviving relative and the funeral services were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Baptist church, Rev. J. O. Staples officiating, with interment in the local cemetery.
