Dwane Cartwright, 65, died Sunday, April 16 at the V.A. Medical Center in Knoxville. He had been a resident there for 17 years.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 18 at 1:30 p.m. at Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone. Burial will be in Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.

Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. today (Monday, April 17) and tomorrow from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

He was born Oct. 1, 1924 at Boone, the son of Dudley and Mernie Davis Cartwright.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He and his wife, Barbara, lived in Webster City from 1955-1972 and he was a real estate broker during that time. He also was a member of the Webster City American Legion Post.

Survivors include his wife of Boone; two sons, Jack of Carlisle and Brock of Littleton, Colo.; one daughter, Carol Good of Ames; one brother, Loren of Des Moines; one sister, Eileen Minert of Ft. Myers, Fla., and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one brother.
