Alan Goettsch, 34, Capistrano Beach, Calif., a former resident of Webster City, died April 19, 1997 at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Foster Funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Friday and prior to the service at the Church. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 191.

Mr. Goettsch, son of Richard and Adra Ann (Banker) Goettsch was born Oct. 9, 1962 in Webster City. He attended Webster City Schools, then went on to study at Iowa Central Community College. From 1982 to 1986 he served in the U.S. Marines at several bases in the U.S. and overseas. In 1989 he started Al's Tire Repair, then on March 17, 1990 he married Lisa Susanne Archie at Dana Point, Calif. He was also a former member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Disabled Veterans and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife; parents; two children, Richard and Lilly; a sister, Amy Hartnett and husband, John, Storm Lake; a grandfather, Dave Banker, Red Rock; and a nephew and niece, Jack and Kelsey Hartnett.
