Arthur E. Longhenry, 84, Webster City, died Thursday, Jan. 12, at his home. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rev. Mark Buchhop officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation at the Foster Funeral home will be from 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 to 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Arthur Elmer Longhenry, son of Henry and Dorothea Schmidt Longhenry, was born Oct. 19, 1904, in Boone County. He was educated in rural schools in Boone County, and also attended St. Paul's Parochial School south of Stanhope. He was employed in farm work. He married Elise Murken on Dec. 18, 1929, at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church south of Stanhope. The couple farmed for many years in Boone County and Hamilton County, before retiring in 1969 and moving to Webster City.

Mr. Longhenry is survived by his wife Elise; three sons and four daughters, Melvin Longhenry, Webster City; Kenneth Longhenry, Ogden; Alice (Mrs. Lyle) Westrum, Boone; Eileen (Mrs. John) Horn, Sac City; Delores Kastler, Woolstock; Marilyn McKee, Aurora, Colo.; and Curtis Longhenry, Boone; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Longhenry, Clayton, Wis.; two sisters, Alice Murken, Boone and Florence Longhenry, Jefferson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, one brother and one sister.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
