Orville H. Lee was born August 7, 1931 on his parent’s farm in Hamilton County, Iowa. He died December 28, 2015 in Eagle River, Wi. He was the son of George J. and Sigvalda “Horness” lee. He attended Roland Consolidated School for 1 year. He was baptized in the Hardin Lutheran Church near Garden City, Iowa. In 1939, He moved with his family to the family farm south of Iowa Falls, Iowa. He attended country school through eighth grade and graduated from Owasa High School in 1949. He served in the United States Army in Japan and Korea from March 6, 1953 to December 23, 1954.

On August 17, 1952. he married Marlys L. Swart. He farmed from 1954 to 1964 when he went to refrigeration school. Upon returning, he worked for Nichol’s Plumbing & Heating as well as Gambles, and finally retiring in 1993 after a 22 year career for the Hardin County REC. He was a member of the Cottage Church until 1992. When he and Marlys moved from their acreage in rural Iowa Falls to their home in Hubbard, Ia. He became a member of Salem Methodist Church and after moving to Eagle River, Wi permanently in 2004, he became a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. Orville’s favorite pastimes were his family, friends, church, sports, and working with his hands doing repairs, building, gardening and raising roses and in earlier years, deer hunting.

Orville was preceded in death by his parents, five bothers: Glen, Herman, Lloyd, Everett, John; two sister: Margaret, Erma; son-in-law: Merv Chaplin and granddaughter: Sheena Chaplin.

He is survived by his wife: Marlys”Swart” Lee of 63 years of Eagle River, Wi; five daughters: Peggy Aguilar of Des Moines, Ia, Judy Chaplin of Eagle River, Wi, Denise (Craig) Duncan of Hubbard, Ia, Paula (Don) Hendrickson, Brenda (Todd) Otto of Eagle River, Wi; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren: Michelle Henderson, DaPre, Myesha, Kayla Chaplin, Eric (Katie)Duncan, Tristen, Kendrick, Kennedy, Aaron (Jessi)Duncan, Carsen, Maddie, Chet (Shannon) Hendrickson, Jade, Piper, J.D. (Julieanne) Hendrickson, Michael (Halley) Otto, Quyncey, Zach (Alicia) Otto, Easton, Sawyer, Adalyn, Lucas Otto; brother: Jerry (Marilyn) Lee; sister-in-law: Mable Lee both of Iowa Falls, Ia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
