Margaret Groves, 98, of Ames and formerly of Williams, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. A funeral service was held on 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Williams. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Surls Funeral Chapel in Williams.

Margaret Adoline Groves was born on August 27, 1917 in Northwood, Iowa to Lee and Anna (Lister) Millsap. She was united in marriage to Gerald Groves on May 5, 1940 in Albany, Missouri. She was a graduate of Williams High School in 1934 and a member of the Williams United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children Dick (Carol) Groves of Onawa, IA and Gwen (Rich) Taylor of Ames, IA, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, son Larry, parents Lee and Anna, sisters Buenetta Schroder, Kathryn Barry, Delores Millsap and her brother David Millsap.
