Eleanor Hanson, 88, of Webster City, died Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Mike Kroona officiating. Burial will follow the services at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Eleanor Avis Venner, daughter of Henry and Rena Tapper Venner, was born April 17, 1928 on the family farm north of Blairsburg. Eleanor graduated from Blairsburg schools. She married Raymond Hanson on April 18, 1954 at the Vernon Lutheran Church in Dows. She worked for over 24 years at Farmers National Bank. She later worked at Peed Publishing, Stratford Telemarketing and Machinery Trader.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Raymond Hanson of Webster City; son, Rod (Sharon) Hanson of New Providence; daughter, Diane Hanson of Webster City; granddaughter, Jenn (Nate Wallerich) Hanson of Webster City; Brent Hanson of Ankeny; four step-grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; seven step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Barbara Venner of Ames, Thelma (Earl) Boss of Story City; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Venner of Iowa Falls.

Eleanor was preceeded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Venner; brother-in-infancy, Henry Venner; and daughter-in-law Victoria Hanson.

Eleanor enjoyed watching birds, especially hummingbirds. She loved to play bingo and gave the stuffed animals she won to her great-granddaughters, Bria and Keighan. Most of all, Eleanor loved to spend time with her family.
