Esther Knutson, 94, of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Kamrar, died Friday, March 18, 2016, at the Olathe Medical Center Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church of Kamrar with Reverend Mike Brost officiating. Burial will follow in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Kamrar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Esther Evelyn Klaver, daughter of Anko and Harmka Welp Klaver Sr. was born on May 8, 1921, on a farm south of Kamrar. She attended Kamrar schools and graduated from Kamrar High School in 1938. She worked at the General Store in Kamrar for several years. On July 9, 1943, she married Roy S. Knutson at the Kamrar Presbyterian Parsonage. The couple made their home in Kamrar. Esther and Roy were caretakers for the First Presbyterian Church for many years.

Esther is survived by her daughter, Darlene and Richard Beyer of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Gwen and Robert Harrison of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and Clayton Beyer of Tempe, AZ; great-grandchildren, Avery and Colton Harrison; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roy in 1994; her parents; siblings, George A. Klaver, Melbourne Klaver, Anko Klaver Jr., Adolph Klaver, Martha Klaver, Jennie Van Langen, Louise Smid, Hilka Olthoff and Bina Klosterbuer.

In 2003, Esther moved to Olathe to live with her daughter and family. In 2010, she became a resident of Villa St Francis Nursing Home. Esther was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Kamrar. She belonged to the Faith Circle and the Town and Country Club of Kamrar as well as serving on the Kamrar Alumni and Kamrar Centennial Planning Committees. Esther loved to work with flowers and spend time with her family.
