Mamie Payne, 62, of Webster City, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Van Diest Medical Center. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm at New Covenant Christian Church in Fort Dodge with Pastor Mike Carmody officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
Mamie Marie Reed, daughter of Edwin and Ruth Perkins Reed, was born April 13, 1954 in Adrian, MI. Mamie received her degree in Broadcast Journalism from Michigan State University. She married John Michael Payne on September 12, 1998 in Fort Dodge. She was employed with the Unemployment Office in the State of Michigan for 37 years. Later she worked for the Unemployment Office in Iowa and Fort Dodge Labs.
She is survived by her husband, John Payne of Webster City; daughters, Jennifer Payne of Cedar Rapids, Mary Payne Eddington of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Chandler Bracelin, Danika Berleen; brothers, Marty Reed, Donnie Reed, Dennis Reed, Richard Reed; and "adopted" sister, Donna Reed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Harold Reed and Edwin Larson.
She was a member of New Covenant Church in Fort Dodge and the Fort Dodge Moose Lodge. She was an adopted grandma to many. She loved her pets, camping, and most of all spending time with her family.
