Erma Flygstad, 92, of Webster City, died Monday, February 15, 2016 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Reverend Mike Kroona officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Erma Mae Barkema was born April 18, 1923 in Jewell, the daughter of Harman and Myrtle Mortenson Barkema. She graduated from Jewell High School. She married Dale Frette in Jewell. He preceded her in death. On June 10, 1962 she married Donald Flygstad in Jewell. Erma was a Program Assistant at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) office in Webster City.

Erma is survived by her husband Donald of Webster City; children, Carolyn (Luverne) Anderson of Kalamazoo, MI, Donald Frette of Glendale, AZ, Diane (David) Delegard of Eau Claire, WI, Gayle (Lowell) Torgerson of Jewell; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband; brothers, Lester, Raymond and Floyd Barkema; and daughter-in-law, Mini Frette.

Erma was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and active with the church circle. She belonged to Webster City Women's Club.
