Mrs. Joe (Arkelle) Severson, 53, longtime Hamilton county resident, died Tuesday evening at the Hamilton County hospital where she had been a patient the past four weeks. She had been in ill health the past two years.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ with the Rev. Marvin Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 10 a.m. Friday when it will be taken to the church.

Arkelle Frances Welch, daughter of Seth and Maude Richardson Welch, was born Aug. 15, 1914, on a farm five miles southwest of Webster City. She was reared and educated in the Webster City community and was graduated with the class of 1932.

She was united in marriage June 15, 1935 to Joe Severson, and the couple made their home on a farm southwest of Webster City.

She was employed for several years at the Anthony store in this city and prior to her illness served as manager of the store.

She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Janet) Roe of Livermore, Iowa; four grandchildren, Marty, Andy, Scott and Arkelle Roe, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Seth Welch, all of Webster City.

She was a member of the Webster City Church of Christ.
