Harold (Bucket) Crouse, 72, Webster City, died Saturday, August 6, at the Hamilton County Hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday, August 1. Private family graveside services will be held at 10:15 Wednesday, August 10, with a flag-folding ceremony conducted by American Legion Post 191. A public memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational UCC, Webster City, the Rev. Ward B. Malloy officiating.

Friends may call at Foster's Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 9.

Harold E. Crouse, son of Chester A. and Jennie A. (Englebert) Crouse, was born July 16, 1916 in Sibley. The family moved to Webster City where Harold was raised and educated. He was a 1933 graduate of Webster City High School.

He married Beryl Hurd on September 7, 1940, in Fort Dodge. He was employed as a printer pressman at Hahne Printing Company in Webster City for 14 years. The couple moved to Des Moines, where he was employed with Wallace's Farmer for two years. The couple moved to DeKalb, Illinois where he was employed with Chesney Printing Company for two years. They then moved to Rockford, Illinois, where he was employed with Ramsen Printing Company for 23 years. The couple moved back to Webster City in 1978 when Harold retired.

He served with the army in the Company C 594th Engineer-Boat Shore Regiment in the South Pacific in WWII.

He is survived by his wife, one brother, Donald A. Crouse, Torrence, California; two sisters, Helen (Mrs. Arlo) Kauffman, Des Moines; and Donna Hutchison, Santa Rosa, California. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Merlin E. Crouse; and two brothers in infancy.

He was a member of the First Congregational UCC; American Legion Post 191; The Disabled Veterans Post 29, Fort Dodge; and the Webster City Country Club.
