Carroll F. Kuhfus, 74, longtime Ellsworth resident, died Tuesday at Ellsworth following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. at the Ellsworth United Methodist church with Rev. B. Dean Hokel and with burial in the Homewood cemetery at Ellsworth.

Carroll Kuhfus was born March 17, 1910 at Hubbard, son of Fred and May Eller Kuhfus. He was a graduate of Radcliffe high school.

He was married to Genevieve Hendrickson on Aug. 7, 1933 at Hubbard.

He had owned and operated the Mobile Filling Station since 1934 and served on the Ellsworth town council. He was also past president of the Ellsworth Businessman's club.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve, one son, Michael of Ellsworth; two granddaughters, Michele of Winterset, and Staci of Ellsworth; also his mother, Mrs. May Kuhfus of Iowa Falls, two brothers, Glen of Eldora and Harley of Hubbard, and one sister, Mrs. Verna Kielsmeier of Iowa Falls.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Maynard.

Visitation will be Thursday from 8 to 9 p.m. at the Becker Funeral home in Jewell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
