Rev. Noel Paul Orcutt, son of Noel Orcutt and Rachel Kersey was born February 12, 1912, in Unionville, IA. He received his education and graduated from the East High School in Des Moines. Following his graduation, he attended Simpson College and Drake Bible College.

On June 2, 1933, Noel married Ruth Mann in Des Moines and following their marriage, they made their home in various communities. He first served the Gatchal United Methodist Church of Des Moines; Methodist Church in Lead, CO; the Congregational Church in Lewis, IA were he was ordained; Allison, IA; Hawarden, Sious Rapids-Rossie, IA; Dodgeville, WI; Davenport, IA; Jewell, IA; Blencoe, IA; Olds, IA; Glyndon, MN and Farragut, IA. Noel has been in Spencer since 1987. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Lions Club, Red Cross, the Ministerial Assoc., Kiwanis, Masons, O.E.S. and several national organizations in the ministry. He had been a minister for 55 years.

Mr. Orcutt passed away at the Spencer Hospital on January 22, 1995, at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Marilyn and one brother, Harold.

Noel is survived by his wife, Ruth of Hartley; four daughters: Donna Yeager of Spencer, Janice - Mrs. Don Reck of Enterprise, AL, Pat - Mrs. Alan Jaycox of Denison, IA and Barbara - Mrs. Charles Christenson of Marathon; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
