Wientjes Rites on Saturday

JEWELL - Funeral services for Martin Wientjes, 71, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Becker funeral home, followed by services at 1:30 at the Presbyterian church near Kamrar.

Mr. Wientjes died suddenly Wednesday evening at the Ames hospital.

The Rev. August Cramer will officiate with burial in the Presbyterian cemetery.

The Masonic lodge of Jewell will participate in the services.

Martin Wientjes was born Oct. 26, 1882 on a farm near Kamrar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wientjes. He was reared and educated in the Kamrar community.

He was married July 1, 1922 to Miss Lucille Maxon of Webster City, and the couple started housekeeping on a farm near Kamrar. He was preceded in death by his wife who died Oct. 26, 1922.

Mr. Wientjes continued farming in the Kamrar community for many years, but had retired recently and had been living at Jewell the past two years.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by several cousins.
