Daily Freeman Tribune, Wednesday, April 17, 1907

Monday morning at 8 o'clock, Heiko Wepel, a pioneer resident of this county, passed away at his home in Kamrar. Mr. Wepel had been a sufferer from paralysis for twelve years, and during the last few years had been almost helpless.

The deceased was born in Germany and came to this country when a young man, nearly fifty years ago. He resided on a farm six miles south of this city until twelve years ago, when he moved to Kamrar, where he has since resided. He was 73 years of age.

There are left to mourn his demise, three sons and two daughters - Martin, John and Heiko Wepel, all of whom live in this vicinity, and Mrs. Robert Lewis and Miss Rose Wepel of Kamrar. The funeral services were held from the German church near Kamrar this afternoon. [with burial in the Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Kamrar]
