Mr. Ole Van Langen was born Nov. 22, 1843 at Stapelmoor, Germany. In 1868 he came to the United States. In 1869 he was united in marriage to Engline Holtkamp at Freeport, Ill.

To Mr. and Mrs. Van Langen ten children were born, as follows: Mrs. C. Naber, Thomas, Mrs. H. Olthoff, Ben, John, Mrs. K. Hemmen, Henry, Lewis, Mrs. H. Greenfield and Ole. Mrs. C. Naber preceded her father in death on Dec. 5, 1925.

In 1873, Mr. Van Langen, with his family, removed to Riley, Kansas, and in the following year to Grundy county, Iowa. In 1885 they came to Kamrar, where he resided at the time of his passing.

Here he united with the First Presbyterian church and in 1887 was elected to the office of deacon, which he faithfully held for 10 years.

After an illness of about two weeks he departed from this life at the ripe old age of 82 years, five months and two days. He leaves to mourn, his aged wife, nine children, 58 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and other relatives.

The members of the bereaved family hereby wish to extend to all those who so kindly assisted them during the sickness and at the death of their beloved husband and father, their sincere thanks.
