IS CRUSHED TO DEATH UNDER A LOAD OF TILE.

Andrew Van Langen, Well Known Kamrar Young Man, Meets Death in Accident. .

UNDER LOAD TILE.

Team in Elevator Yards Becomes Frightened and Runs Away

Andrew, Van Langen, 18 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry [Anna Brinkema] Van Langen who live three miles east of this town, was crushed to death in the yards of the Farmers elevator here this morning when his team ran away on him, and the load of tile passed over his body.

The accident happened about 8:20 o'clock. Andrew had come to town for a load of tile, and had finished putting it on the wagon. He was sitting on the load just ready to drive out of the yards when the southbound passenger train came in. His team became frightened and he picked up the lines to hold them. As they started to run, Andrew fell under the heavily loaded wagon, which passed over his chest.

Lives Only Few Minutes.

No one witnessed the accident, but when the team ran out of the yards, men about the elevator came to Andrew's assistance. The young man was conscious, but after uttering a few sentences, telling how the accident happened, he lapsed into unconsciousness and died in a few minutes. Dr. Lewis, of Kamrar, was in Fort Dodge and a hurried call was sent for Dr. Wyatt in this city. Andrew was dead, however, before Dr. Wyatt reached Kamrar.

Popular Young Man.

Andrew Van Langen was one of the most known and popular young farm boys about Kamrar. He had just completed his Junior year in the high school here and last fall won an honor letter by his line work on his football team. His sudden death is a keen shock to his parents and to this whole community generally, for he was a young man widely known and held in the highest esteem of all who knew him.
