Joe Trampel Dies at 75

KAMRAR - Joe Trampel, 75, longtime Kamrar resident, died last evening at 6 o'clock at the Story City hospital where he had been a patient for six and one-half months.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian church with Rev. Loren Parman officiating. The body will lie in state at the Becker funeral home until 1 p.m. Friday when it will be taken to the church. Burial will be in the Presbyterian cemetery.

Joe Trampel was born March 24, 1888, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Trampel. He had always resided in the Kamrar community where he engaged in farming until his retirement, continuing, however, to live on the farm northeast of Kamrar.

He was married to Jennie Greenfield on March 14, 1913, and the couple started farming near Kamrar. Mrs. Trampel died May 10, 1936.

He was united in marriage to Martha Merritt on February 9, 1938, and he was preceded in death by his wife who died Feb. 22, 1962.

Surviving are six children: Mrs. John H. (Elma) Van Loh of Ackley, Elfred E. Trampel, Webster City, Lester E. Trampel, Kamrar, Mrs. Ronald (Edna) Twedt, Ellsworth, Mrs. Arling (Lola) Erickson, Jewell, and Mrs. Truman (Ila Ann) Twedt, Williams; one brother, Adolph Trampel, Kamrar and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and four brothers.
