Daily Freeman Journal, Monday, April 30, 1979

Mrs. Johnnie K. Luppes, 79, died Sunday morning at Mercy hospital in Des Moines following a short illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church in Kamrar with the Rev. Marvin Camp officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Becker Funeral home until 11 a.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to the church.

Grace Naber, daughter of Henry and Alice Lente Naber was born Feb. 28, 1900, northeast of Kamrar. She was married Sept. 23, 1920 to Johnnie K. Luppes at the Presbyterian church. The family farmed until 31 years ago when they moved to Jewell.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Lorraine) Vaubel of Jewell; one son, Lester Luppes of Kamrar; 12 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Eilt Naber of Webster City and Henry Naber of Kamrar; three sisters, Dena Barth, Kamrar; Delia Van Langen of Kamrar and Minnie Wessels of Kamrar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Arvid Luppes, who died Oct. 21, 1966, one brother, Gerit Naber, and a great-grandson, Jason Buchele.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the UPW of the church.
