Funeral services for Simon H. Greenfield, 79, lifelong resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Presbyterian church east of Kamrar with the Rev. Loren Parman officiating and with burial in the Presbyterian cemetery.

Mr. Greenfield died Tuesday morning at the Hamilton County hospital following a brief illness.

The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Friday, when it will be taken to the church.

Simon H. Greenfield, son of Henry and Harmina Greenfield, was born Sept. 27, 1895 [headstone says he was born 1884] on a farm three miles east of Kamrar. He was reared and educated in the Kamrar community and had engaged in farming on the Greenfield home farm since that time, retiring several years ago but continuing to reside on the farm.

He is survived by three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Minnie Welp of Webster City, Eilt Greenfield and Jennie Greenfield, both of Kamrar, and Mrs. Henry (Alice) Johnson of Ellsworth. Also surviving are one niece and one nephew, Mrs. Jennie Middents of Webster City and Elvin H. Johnson of Ellsworth and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and one sister who died in infancy.

He was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church.
