George Fonken, 64, lifelong resident of the Kamrar community, died suddenly Tuesday at his home in Kamrar. He had been in ill health for several years.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Presbyterian church east of Kamrar with the Rev. Marvin L. Camp and the Rev. Robert Martin officiating and with burial in the Presbyterian cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Thursday when it will be taken to the church.

George Fonken, son of Johan and Henrietta Smith Fonken, was born May 15, 1905 on a farm east of Kamrar. He was united in marriage Aug. 10, 1934 to Irene Welp, and the couple had always resided in Kamrar where Mr. Fonken [I am unable to finish this obituary because the next page on the digital archives at the KYL is unreadable]
