LaVonne Hanson, 57, Stanhope, died Monday, June 16, 1997 at Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Stanhope, with Rev. Neal Mather officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and prior to the funeral at the church.

LaVonne Lucille Luppes, daughter of Johnnie and Pearl (Meyer) Luppes, was born Feb. 13, 1940 on a farm south of Blainburg. She attended Blairsburg school and graduated from Webster City High School in 1958. On Sept 7, 1958, she married Gary Joe Hanson at Kamrar. The couple resided in Boone, Ames, and then in Stanhope, where they moved in 1964. Mrs. Hanson was employed at Traffic Marketing Service in Stanhope.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter and son-on-law, Vicki and Mario Ysaiz, a son, Mike Hanson, and a grandson, Cody, all of Stanhope; three brothers, Orvil Luppes, Webster City, Johnnie Luppes, Blairsburg, and Kenneth Luppes, Vacaville, Calif; three sisters, Aretta Muxfeldt and Iona Hoversten, both of Webster City, and Lois Nixon of Winters, Calif; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Verl Luppes.
