J. W. (Wes) Miller, 81, lifelong resident of the Webster City community, died early this morning at the Hamilton County hospital where he had been a patient the past month.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Grace United Methodist church with the Rev. A. E. Rau officiating and with burial in the Memorial Park cemetery at Fort Dodge.

The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to the church.

John Wesley Miller, son of James C. and Sarah Trotter Miller, was born March 21, 1888 on a farm near Webster City and was reared and educated in the Webster City community.

He was united in marriage Aug. 9, 1911 to Zell Kiester, and Mr. and Mrs. Miller farmed in the Webster City area until the fall of 1958, when they retired and moved into Webster City.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Dwayne K. Miller of Marshalltown; one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Evelyn) Kraemer, Webster City; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Schweppe of Webster City, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Miller, his parents, seven brothers and one sister.

Mr. Miller was a member of the Grace United Methodist church and was a member of the Elks lodge.
