Merle Howard Heinzeroth, 75, of Alden, passed away on Sunday, June 7th at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames after a short battle with cancer. Visitation will be held at 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10th at Surl's Funeral Home, 505 Stevens St. Iowa Falls, Iowa with family receiving visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11th at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Alden with burial in the Alden Cemetery. The Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in charge of the arrangements.

Merle was born September 28, 1939 at home in Alden, Iowa, the son of John and Dorothy(Graff) Heinzeroth. He was baptized on October 15, 1939 and confirmed on April 6th, 1952 at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Alden. He graduated from Alden Community School in 1957. On June 9th, 1962 he united in marriage to Frances Wearda. He was a farmer all of his life south of Alden on the family century farm.

Merle is survived by his children Jeffrey(Robin) Heinzeroth, Kristie(John) O'Brien, Lisa(Joseph) Prochaska and Amy(Edin) Perez, a sister Lorraine Hansen and eight grandchildren Joshua, Sara, Kelsey, Gatlin, Emily, Ryan, Hannah, and Nathan.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Frances, a son Tom, two brothers Robert(Theda) and Ervin(Carol), and his brother-in-law Dale Hansen.
