Vernon Keith "Bud" Brandt Jr., 50, of Indianola died of a heart attack Sunday in Bellevue, Neb.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Overton Funeral Home, and burial will be in IOOF Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Brandt, an Army veteran of the Vietnam war, was born in Webster City and moved to Indianola in 1989. He was a sales representative for Minter-Weisman in Des Moines, formerly called Gordon Wholesale.

Among survivors are his wife, Mary; a son, Tim Blake of Indianola; his father and stepmother, Vernon Sr. and Marjorie Brandt of Cherokee; his mother, Shirley Brandt of Webster City; two brothers, Randall of Beale Air force Base in California and Thomas of Honolulu; a step-brother, Don Knutson of Sioux Falls, S.D.,; and three stepsisters, Shirley Radke of LaVerne, Minn., Lind Ambrose of Fairbury, Ill., and Nancy McLaughlin of Aurelia.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christopher Street foundation in Indianola. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Wed 27 Nov 1996.
