Marie Risetter, 78, Jewell, died at her home Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church with Rev. Dale Peterson to officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 1-3 p.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell.

Marie Genevieve Sexe was born April 25, 1921, southwest of Jewell, the daughter of Jacob and Hannah Amelia Risvold Sexe. She grew up in the Jewell area. On October 16, 1939, she married Elvin Risetter at Jewell. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and the Bethesda Lutheran Church Women. She enjoyed traveling, needlework and baking.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Marelyn and Bob Wicks of Jewell, two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Jean Risetter of Jewell, and James and Pam Risetter of Webster City; eight grandchildren; Bryan Wicks, Shellie Hosch, Mindi Larimore, Marti Jensen, Travis Risetter, Burke Risetter, Heather Bailey and Ryan Risetter; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Duane Sexe, Story City, four sisters, Iris Deeds, Des Moines, Jean Shannon, Des Moines, Patty Sexe, Story City, Karen Creagor, Story City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1990, two sisters, Gloria in infancy, and Delores McVey, three brothers, Vernon, Phillip, and Jerry Sexe, and two grandchildren, Jodi Jae and Chad Wayne Risetter.
